Homemade baby water wipes

Skipping over so many life things…

This post is about how to make homemade water wipes! Why are water wipes so ridiculously expensive? They are just baby wipes with water and a drop of grapefruit seed extract.

With a little trial and error, we are making our very own water wipes with no mold (tested up to 3 weeks) and negligibly cheap. Cheep cheep.

Here are the materials:

  • Viva paper towels, choose a sheet
  • 500ml [2 cups] Boiled water (do not skip boiling)
  • Baby shampoo of your choice – Babo Botanicals
  • Thayers unscented alcohol free witch hazel toner
  • Baby oil of your choice – Earth Mama Calendula Baby Oil
  • Non-serrated kitchen knife
  • Pyrex liquid cup measure
  • 1 Tablespoon measure
  • Airtight container for final wipes – Oxo Pop container 2.4qts (approx. 6″x6″x6″)

  1. Cut entire paper towel roll in half using non-serrated kitchen knife; rotate roll to cut paper towel layers first, and then cut center cardboard roll last
  2. Put half roll into clean airtight container
  3. Measure 400ml boiled water
  4. Add 1 Tbsp (approx. 15ml) baby oil, 1 Tbsp baby soap, and 2 Tbsp witch hazel
  5. Stir and pour half of solution over paper towels
  6. Flip paper towels over
  7. Pour second half of solution
  8. Remove cardboard center roll from paper towels
  9. Use 100ml water to rinse sides of measuring cup, and then pour over paper towels
  10. Pull wipes from center of roll to use
